Skolarli Assess · Video Interviews

Video interviews built for hiring — not for meetings.

Zoom and Teams were built for collaboration. Skolarli's video interviews are built for evaluation. Proctored on the Skolarli Integrity Browser, scribed by SkoAI, and consistent across mobile, tablet, and desktop.

What it is

Zoom is for collaboration. Teams is for meetings. Skolarli is for hiring.

Generic video conferencing tools were built for two people on the same side of a problem — colleagues collaborating, teams meeting, customers being onboarded. None of that fits how a hiring interview actually works. Hiring is evaluative, asymmetric, time-bound, and high-stakes. The infrastructure should match.

Skolarli Video Interviews run inside the same proctored environment as the rest of the assessment. AI tools blocked at the OS level. Voice fingerprinting active throughout. Live transcription, AI-generated summaries, and key-point extraction — all attached to the candidate's dossier the moment the call ends. No notes lost, no Zoom recordings to download, no separate platform for hiring to maintain.

Interview formats

Six capabilities. One hiring-grade interview platform.

Configure each interview based on the role, the round, and the panel structure. Same proctoring engine, same AI Scribe, same dossier integration across all formats.

Standard

One-on-One Interviews

A single interviewer with the candidate. The most common round-one format — focused, time-efficient, and the easiest format to scale across high-volume hiring.

  • Structured rubric with timer per question
  • Live AI Scribe transcription
  • SIB-proctored when integrity matters
  • Recording auto-attached to dossier
Senior rounds

Panel Interviews

Multi-evaluator interviews with up to 5 participants — primary interviewer, candidate, and a panel of up to 3 stakeholders. Custom panel sizes available on request.

  • Up to 5 participants by default
  • Each evaluator scores independently
  • Speaker-attributed transcription
  • Larger panels available on request
High volume

Async Video Responses

Candidate records responses to standardized questions on their own time. Evaluators review later when convenient. Perfect for early-stage screening at high volumes.

  • Candidate records on their schedule
  • Standardized questions, fair comparisons
  • Single attempt with retake controls
  • Massively scalable for campus hiring
Integrity-led

Live Proctored Interviews

Real-time video interview running inside the Skolarli Integrity Browser. Candidate's environment is locked — AI tools blocked, screenshots prevented, voice biometrics active throughout the call.

  • SIB-protected candidate environment
  • Voice fingerprinting throughout
  • Trust score appended to call dossier
  • Best for senior & high-stakes hires
Multi-candidate

Group Discussions

Multiple candidates evaluated simultaneously through structured group discussions and case-based scenarios. Tests collaboration, articulation, and leadership in real time.

  • Multiple candidates, structured prompts
  • Speaker-attributed transcription
  • Per-candidate evaluation rubrics
  • Useful for campus & consulting hires
Universal

Cross-Device Coverage

Same interview experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop. Candidates join from whatever device works — no app installs, no platform discrimination, no candidate friction.

  • iOS, Android, web — same experience
  • No app install required
  • Adaptive bandwidth for low-network areas
  • Critical for rural and Tier-2/3 candidate pools
Why Skolarli

Built for hiring decisions. Not for meeting recordings.

Every feature here exists because something about generic video tooling fails for hiring. Here's what we did differently.

SIB-proctored when needed

For high-stakes interviews, run inside the Skolarli Integrity Browser. AI tools blocked at the OS level, screenshots prevented, voice biometrics active. Zoom and Teams can't do this — they were built for collaboration, not evaluation.

SkoAI Scribe — live transcription & summary

Live transcription throughout the call, with AI-generated summary, key points, and action items delivered the moment the call ends. No more "I'll write up notes later" that never happens. Decisions move faster.

Panels up to 5 — extendable

Primary interviewer, candidate, and up to 3 panel members by default. Larger panels available on enterprise contracts. Each panelist scores independently — no more averaging in someone's notes after the fact.

Mobile, tablet, desktop — same experience

Critical for Indian candidate pools where mobile-first is the norm. Candidate joins from whatever device works in their network conditions. No app install, no platform discrimination, no candidate dropout because of tech friction.

Recordings auto-attached to dossier

No "I'll send the recording over email" flow. The recording, transcript, AI summary, and per-evaluator scores are bundled into the candidate's dossier the moment the call ends. Compliance-ready, audit-ready, decision-ready.

Structured rubrics, not freeform notes

Each interview format ships with role-appropriate rubrics. Evaluators score against pre-defined criteria — not on whatever feels right that day. Defensible scoring, consistent across panel members, comparable across candidates.

Common questions

Video interviews, upfront.

How is this different from using Zoom or Microsoft Teams?
Zoom and Teams are video conferencing tools — built for collaboration between people on the same side of a problem. Skolarli Video Interviews is hiring-specific: structured rubrics for evaluation, SIB-proctored environment for integrity, AI Scribe attached to candidate dossiers, voice fingerprinting for identity verification, and direct integration with the rest of your hiring workflow. The same call costs less and produces a better hiring decision.
How many participants can join an interview?
Up to 5 participants by default — typically the primary interviewer, the candidate, and a panel of up to 3 stakeholders. Additional panel members can be added on request for larger evaluations like CXO-level hiring rounds or assessment-center-style interviews.
Does the candidate need to install anything?
For standard interviews, no. The candidate clicks the magic link and joins from their browser on whatever device they have — mobile, tablet, or desktop. For SIB-proctored interviews, the candidate downloads the Skolarli Integrity Browser app, which is gated by tenant access. Most candidates can join an interview within 30 seconds of clicking the invite.
How does AI Scribe work, and how accurate is the transcription?
SkoAI Scribe runs live transcription throughout the call with speaker attribution — you see who said what, in real time. After the call, it generates a structured summary, identifies key points raised, and surfaces action items. Transcription accuracy is ~95% for clear English audio, lower for heavy accents or poor mic quality. Human evaluators always have the recording to verify against.
Are recordings stored, and for how long?
Interview recordings are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and stored alongside the candidate's dossier. Default retention is for the lifetime of the customer's account, unless explicit deletion is requested. Customers can request shorter retention windows for privacy compliance, or extended retention for hiring audit purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can we use video interviews without proctoring?
Yes. Proctoring is optional per interview. For early-stage screening rounds, panel discussions, or CXO-level conversations where integrity isn't the concern, you can run interviews in standard browser mode without SIB. For technical rounds, behavioral interviews, or any evaluation where AI cheating could be a concern, enable SIB proctoring. You configure this per-interview based on the role and round.
How does this work for candidates in low-bandwidth areas?
Skolarli Video Interviews uses adaptive bandwidth — the platform detects the candidate's network quality and dynamically adjusts video resolution, codec, and bitrate to maintain call stability. In poor network conditions, video may downgrade to audio-only temporarily. This matters significantly for Tier-2 and Tier-3 city candidate pools where network conditions are variable.
Can interviews be scheduled in advance, or must they be on-demand?
Both are supported. Interviews can be scheduled in advance with calendar integration (Google Calendar, Outlook, Microsoft 365), with automated reminders sent to all participants. Or interviewers can launch on-demand interviews and send the magic link instantly. Async video responses are also fully supported for high-volume screening.
